Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

The Journal of Food, Nutrition, and Health Advances (JFNH Advances), published by Mitra Akademia Indonesia, recognizes that the long-term preservation of the digital scientific record is essential for the advancement of global knowledge. We are fully committed to ensuring that all published articles remain permanently accessible, discoverable, and usable by the international academic community, regardless of any future technological or organizational changes.

To guarantee the permanent availability of our content, JFNH Advances implements a robust digital archiving and management strategy:

1. Persistent Identifiers (DOI)

Every article published in JFNH Advances is assigned a unique and persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through our partnership with Crossref. This ensures that all published content maintains a permanent URL and can be reliably cited and tracked across global databases, preventing link rot and ensuring persistent accessibility.

2. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

Because JFNH Advances is hosted on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, we actively utilize the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). This system utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program, which provides a decentralized and distributed preservation system among participating libraries worldwide. This guarantees that an unalterable, archival version of the journal's content is securely preserved even if the primary journal platform experiences temporary or permanent downtime.

3. LOCKSS and CLOCKSS Archiving

In addition to the PKP PN, our OJS platform is fully configured to support LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) archiving systems. These systems permit partner libraries and international digital archives to collect, preserve, and serve the content of JFNH Advances, creating a resilient, dark archive of the journal's published volumes.

4. Author Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)

JFNH Advances strongly supports "Green Open Access" and the democratization of scientific knowledge. Authors are permitted and actively encouraged to deposit all versions of their work (Submitted Version, Accepted Manuscript, and the Final Published PDF) into:

  • Institutional repositories (e.g., university repositories).

  • Subject-based or disciplinary repositories (e.g., PubMed Central).

  • Non-commercial academic networking sites.

When self-archiving the published version, authors are required to provide a clear citation to the original publication in JFNH Advances and include the permanent Crossref DOI link.

5. Website Data Backup and Management

Mitra Akademia Indonesia, as the publisher, conducts rigorous and regular internal data management. We perform automated daily, weekly, and monthly backups of the entire OJS database, source code, and article metadata to secure, geographically redundant cloud servers to prevent data loss from unforeseen cyber incidents or server failures.
