Author Guidelines

The Journal of Food, Nutrition, and Health Advances (JFNH Advances) welcomes high-quality submissions from researchers, academicians, and practitioners globally. To ensure a smooth editorial process and maintain international publication standards, authors must rigorously follow the guidelines outlined below before submitting their manuscripts.

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal or conference proceedings.

  • Language: All submissions must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English. Authors who are not native English speakers are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread before submission.

  • Plagiarism Policy: All submitted manuscripts will be subjected to plagiarism checks using Turnitin. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

  • Submission Platform: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the JFNH Advances Open Journal Systems (OJS) portal. Submissions via email will not be processed.

  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Please refer strictly to the official JFNH Advances templates.

2. Types of Articles Accepted

JFNH Advances primarily accepts two types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles: Comprehensive reports on original research (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods).

  2. Review Articles: Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and comprehensive narrative reviews. Systematic reviews must adhere to PRISMA guidelines.

3. Manuscript Structure and Formatting

Manuscripts should be typed using Tahoma font, size 11, with 1.15 line spacing.

A. Title and Abstract

  • Title: Must be concise, specific, and informative. Written in Tahoma 14-pt bold, maximum 20 words.

  • Abstract: The abstract contains 150-250 words and consists of only 1 paragraph, and contains the main points of research, such as objectives, methods, research results, novelty, and implications. The abstract should illustrate how the research can contribute to the development of science in physics and physics education. Abstracts are written on a different page than the article content.

  • Keywords: Provide 3 to 5 specific words or phrases, arranged alphabetically.

B. Main Body (Research Articles) Research articles must follow the strict IMRaD format:

  • 1. Introduction: Background, rationale, and specific objectives.

  • 2. Materials and Methods: Detailed procedures, study design, and data analysis. Ethical approval must be stated here if applicable.

  • 3. Results: Presentation of data using text, tables, or high-resolution figures (all in English).

  • 4. Discussion: Interpretation of results, implications, and limitations.

  • 5. Conclusion: Brief summary answering the research objectives.

C. Main Body (Review Articles) Review articles follow a thematic structure:

  • 1. Introduction: Context and objectives of the review.

  • 2. Methodology / Literature Search Strategy: Databases used, search terms, and inclusion/exclusion criteria.

  • 3. [Thematic Headings]: Synthesized analysis grouped by specific sub-topics.

  • 4. Discussion and Future Perspectives: Broader implications and research gaps.

  • 5. Conclusion: Main takeaways.

4. Mandatory Declarations

To meet international ethical standards (COPE and CSAB Scopus), all manuscripts must include the following declaration sections placed before the References:

  • Acknowledgments: Acknowledge individuals who provided technical assistance.

  • Author Contributions: Detail the specific contributions of each author using the CRediT format (e.g., Conceptualization, X.X. and Y.Y.; Methodology, X.X.; Writing – Original Draft, X.X.).

  • Funding Statement: Disclose any financial support or grants received for the research. If none, state: "This research received no external funding."

  • Institutional Review Board Statement / Ethical Clearance: For studies involving human or animal subjects, state the name of the ethics committee and the approval code. If not applicable, state: "Not applicable."

  • Informed Consent Statement: For human studies, declare that informed consent was obtained.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Declare any potential conflicts. If none, state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

  • Declaration of Artificial Intelligence Use: State whether AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly AI, predictive software) were used in data analysis or manuscript writing.

5. References and Citations

  • Standard: All citations and references must adhere strictly to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style.

  • Quantity and Quality: 

    • Research Articles: Minimum of 20 references.

    • Review Articles: Minimum of 40 references.

  • Currency: At least 80% of the cited references must be from peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last 10 years.

  • Reference Manager: The use of reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote) is mandatory.

  • DOI: Ensure that the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is included for all journal references.
